Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay was the best-selling rock album of last year. The record included their singles Paradise and Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall. The band are planning a UK stadium tour later this year.
The debut album by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds topped the UK album chart in October, and went on to become the second best-selling rock album of 2011. Gallagher formed the band after Oasis split in 2009.

Florence And The Machine’s second album, Ceremonials, was the third biggest rock album of last year. Singles Shake It Out and What The Water Gave Me featured on the record, which reached number one in November.

Wasting Light was the seventh album by Foo Fighters, and fourth biggest-selling rock album of the year. The record included the singles Rope and Arlandria. Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl (pictured) formed the band in 1994.
Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons became the fifth best-selling album of 2011, despite being released more than two years ago. Singles featured on the album include White Blank Page, Winter Winds and Roll Away Your Stone.

Build A Rocket Boys was the fifth studio album to be released by Elbow, and the sixth biggest rock album of 2011. The album was the follow-up to The Seldom Seen Kid, which won the Mercury Music Prize in 2008.
Velociraptor was Kasabian’s fourth album, topping the UK chart in September. It was the seventh biggest-selling rock album of last year overall, according to the Official Charts Company.
Fallen Empires by Snow Patrol reached number three in the UK album chart when it was released in November. The album’s lead single This Isn’t Everything You Are helped it become the eighth biggest-selling rock record of 2011.
Last Night On Earth by Noah And The Whale reached number eight in the UK album chart in March, and featured the single L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. It takes the ninth place in the 2011 rock album chart.

Suck It And See by Arctic Monkeys was the 10th biggest-selling rock album of 2011, according to the Official Charts Company. Despite not being as successful as the band’s previous records, it topped the UK album chart in June.
